Congratulation too for Brother Hassan, he got the first prize, the best FYP for CS students. Although He was the last presenter, what he presented was valuable. Judges can see the important and the future use of his FYP. He did a great job.
And, Kak Dayah too (She got second place), She did so well in her FYP, also in her presentation. Thank you for helping me with my slide show, etc.
Congratulation for my friends (they got third place), Fauzi, Fafau and Pikri. They did great application, so proud of them. I think the most marketable application(?) coming from their group. Very interesting :D
And, for the rest of my FYP friends, we got so many things this semester. It is both joyful and challenging. What we did on our FYP, hopefully, can manage to achieve the aims of FYP.
From what I can see in today’s presentation, a good teamwork with a good supervision from supervisor may result on a very good FYP. Even, from judges perspective, CS students have higher marks than IT students. What CS students showed today may be just a beginning. I saw the judges were interested to do some collaborations and hiring some potential students. We are not lacking of knowledge, we are lacking on some collaboration, time and supervision. I’m sure the future CS students will find the way to do better and better next year, insyaAllah.
For the IS students, I saw their presentation in the morning. Congratulation to Sister Safura, she manage to get the 1st prize of best FYP, and also the brothers who made Halal Repository system, they got the best of the best FYP for IS students. They differ their product to other groups. Mostly IS students make some systems such as management system, repository, etc. But the judges want to see something different, something practical, valuable to the community, and marketable. The judges comments was so important for them, to improve more on ideas, what to make and what not.
Lastly, I want to give thanks to my CS department who gave all of us opportunity, goodies bags, and consolation prizes. Thank you Sister Ifa, she was so proud of all CS students, I want to send this to all my CS friends.
I’m sure, if we keep moving on what we love to do now, it is not possible for us to hope that the next world class scientists and enterpeneurs are coming from our Kulliyyah. It’ll need time, effort and opportunity too, so I hope Allah will helps us to achieve it. Amin…

So in the future when I say ‘College were the best days’…this is the place I’m referring to. The place I’m studying in….It’s International, it’s Islamic, it’s a University…and it’s in Malaysia…’IIUM’.
It may not be as posh as universities in a castle-medieval setting, but our beautiful campus stands proudly with its unique Islamic architecture, adorn with lush greenery, amidst the tropical rainforest and colossal mountains. Pretty epic in its own right.

“Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.”
| — | Johann Wolfgang von Goethe (via quote-book) |
It have been a while since I applied to be a photographer in my university newspaper called The Torch. Honestly, the main intention to join the Torch is to seek more knowledge about photography from fellow friends. I meet Shela, she is an incredibly kind person. I found that She plays an important role to transform me into a better photographer. From zero knowledge to a little good background about photography. She told me the basic setting to take a good newspaper photos (which is different from leisure photos), she taught me how to use my Nikon D5000 better. I owe her so much in the Torch second issue because with her help, my 3 photos were able to appear in the newspaper.
I’m feeling so glad that everyone congratulate me on this achievement. Things that I could imagine it can happen to me.
But, at the same edition of the newspaper, my nasheed group also appears. I didn’t feeling so great about that because, honestly, it is better for me to show photos taken by me other that my face appears in the newspaper out of so many faces in IIUM. Why this must be happened to me? Dear God?
Back to my job at The Torch, I feel that everyone is welcoming me as new member. As long as I work professionally, I think I would never get any trouble. It was so great to meet great new people and friends there. I never ever feel disappointed to spend my semester left joining The Torch. I hope, I can be a better photographer, capture lovely images that make everybody happy.
